Doctor Who: Eve Of The Daleks Review - 9 Ups & 4 Downs

2. DOWN - Red Flag Alert

Doctor Who Eve of the Daleks
BBC

Like we said before, Nick is a friendly enough bloke, but we have to question whether Sarah deciding to date him was a good idea. Good heart or not, this man is a walking red flag.

Firstly, he confesses to having stalked Sarah a little bit, and at her place of work no less. This on its own could be seen as innocent enough, but paired with further context… considerably less so.

We learn over the course of this episode that Nick has rented out a storage unit for the sole purpose of hoarding the possessions of his ex-girlfriends in case they come back to collect them, which, to be honest, is a bit creepy. This coupled with the fact that he has had many, many failed relationships, many of which he confesses are somewhat short lived, leads us to believe he’s probably the issue in these relationships…

Did we mention there are also multiple accounts of him stretching the truth throughout the episode?

Sarah calls him out on this strange behaviour, and rightfully so, but in the space of around twenty minutes, completely changes her mind once she finds out he has a crush on her, deciding to ignore the alarm bells and get together with him to travel the world. In the words of the Twelfth Doctor:

This is a mistake! You’ve made a boyfriend error!

We did like Nick, but for romanticising creepy behaviour, this might have to be a down. Sorry, mate.
