Doctor Who: Every 9th Doctor Episode Ranked Worst To Best

8. Aliens of London/World War Three

It's no coincidence that both of the Slitheen stories bring up the rear of this list. While it seemed a logical move to feature some classic green-skinned and bug-eyed aliens early on, this alien family will go down in Who Lore notoriety due to their ridiculous flatulence problem.

The idea of an alien invasion story where the Doctor and Rose are trapped in Downing Street had so much potential. However, it's hard to invest in the high stakes of the story when our heroes are being chased around by clumsy, flabby farting aliens.

One character does steal this two-parter though: Harriet Jones (MP for Flydale North). Feeling every part the faithful yet overlooked backbencher she describes herself as, she proves herself to be the future Prime Minister the country deserves. Take note, Theresa May.

An interesting exploration of how Downing Street would react to an alien invasion, these episodes were ambitious but mostly ridiculous.

An avid cinephile, love Trainspotting (the film, not the hobby), like watching bad films ironically (The Room, Cats) and hate my over-reliance on brackets (they’re handy for a quick aside though).
