Doctor Who: EVERY NuWho Villain And Monster Ranked Worst To Best

126. Tzim-Sha

Doctor Who villains
BBC Studios

Appears in: The Woman Who Fell to Earth, The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos.

One way to confront a fearsome foe is to bravely belittle them. The Losers successfully defeated Pennywise by literally shouting him down to size in It: Chapter Two, but the killer clown's demise is simply not befitting of the self-proclaimed "eater of worlds".

While Tzim-Sha isn't beaten outright by the Doctor in the Series 11 opener, her calling him "Tim Shaw" significantly lessened the Stenza warrior's fear factor. And frustratingly so: he was set up as a formidable enemy - killing people indiscriminately and painfully with the mere touch of his icy hand (RIP Salad Man), and then removing his victim's teeth as a trophy and affixing them to his face.

Chris Chibnall said that The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos "didn't feel enough like a season finale...", and that it's his "least favourite script" during his time as showrunner. Which is indicative of Tzim-Sha's impact.

The name's Colbourn, James - yeah, doesn't quite have the same ring to it.
