We were all rooting for Charlie and Kira to move their sweetly awkward encounter to the next level: stringing together a couple of sentences. All in all, he seemed to be a good lad, and the "fam" showed a duty of care towards him.

So, we all felt Charlie's anguish when Kira was disintegrated after popping some bubble wrap from a Kerblam parcel. But in a complete 180, old Charlie boy turned out to be the malevolent maintenance man behind the booby-trapped bubble wrap, with plans on sending a mass delivery of the deadly stuff to every Kerblam customer, thereby destroying the company (he was pretty miffed at their 10% human workforce quota, you see).

Charlie also murdered several colleagues, including the sweet and funny Dan (Lee Mack), when testing his "special" deliveries.

Like all classic artificial intelligences, Kerblam's AI fought back by killing Kira to basically hit Charlie right in the feels. However, he was at the spitting feathers stage by that point so couldn't give a toss, but he got his comeuppance in the end.
