Doctor Who: EVERY NuWho Villain And Monster Ranked Worst To Best
36. Dalek Reconnaissance Scout
Appears in: Resolution, Revolution of the Daleks.
"Recon scouts have capabilities beyond the normal Dalek soldier..."
This special advanced Dalek's backstory is befitting of a legend - one of the first to leave Skaro and first to reach Earth in the 9th century, but is defeated, chopped into three pieces, and buried at opposite ends of the Earth, to be guarded down the generations. As ever with good intentions, one piece doesn't get buried properly and is eventually dug up by a couple of archaeologists.
Cue all manner of mayhem: the revived recon scout reconstructs its body, possesses one of the archaeologist's, Lin, by attaching itself to her back that's reminiscent of an Eight Legs on Sarah Jane's back from Planet of the Spiders. Just like the "last" Dalek from Series 1, we're shown how devastatingly destructive only one of them is when basically swatting aside an army squad.
The Recon Scout wasn't quite seen off, with its remnants extracted, cloned then teleported into Jack Robertson's Defence Drones. Who ya gonna call, Doctor? A quintessentially pure Dalek Death Squad of course, which made no mistake with a no-nonsense extermination.
