So the slumbering Mummy encased in a glass cube in the Pyramid of the Rings of Akhaten is merely an alarm clock for the actual Old God/Grandfather.
It was - along with the Vigil - a far more menacing monster than the massive parasitic planet it woke up. However, despite the Mummy's overall effectiveness, its single-use function is a bit of a drawback.
