The first episode of NuWho will always hold a special place in our hearts for many reasons. Sadly, the CGI blob that is the Nestene Consciousness isn't one of them, although it is a vast improvement on previous versions (here's looking at you, Spearhead from Space).
Despite its Auton subordinates being the far more interesting aspect of this deadly duo, the Consciousness deserves to be bumped up this list by dint of having the honour of the first face-off with the Doctor in nine (how fitting) years, while also serving as a nice link to the Classic series.
