Doctor Who: Every Tenth Doctor Episode Ranked From Worst To Best

Voyage of the Damned is one of the most-watched Doctor Who episodes of all time, aided in no small part by its prime Christmas Day slot, and the casting of Kylie Minogue as the Doctor's companion.

Minogue is solid in what is ultimately a slickly-produced but straightforward "disaster movie" episode. It hits all the beats you'd expect but it does so in a very entertaining way, with heroic sacrifices, shock deaths, a sprinkling of romance, and, of course, a spiky red cyborg alien.

The sparkling gold tooth and futuristic golf buggy of Max Capricorn makes for an unbearably cheesy villain, and the melodrama is off the charts at points. But these exaggerated characters and events are part of Voyage of the Damned's appeal. It's a big-hearted blockbuster action movie with a Doctor Who coating, and quite possibly the most fun episode in the Tenth Doctor's era.
