Doctor Who NuWho Companions: Where Are They Now?

5. Kylie Minogue

It's not everyday that you ask for a guest role in Doctor Who and get one written "especially for you" but such was the case for Kylie Minogue who had a chance meeting with Russell T Davies which resulted in her becoming one of the show's most popular companions who never was. She should be so lucky (lucky, lucky lucky...)! Some of you will argue that Astrid Peth doesn't technically count as a bonafide companion, since she's only ever appeared in one episode, but don't forget that the Tenth Doctor invited her to step aboard the TARDIS permanently so they would've no doubt had a long and voluptuous relationship had she not, you know... commandeered that forklift truck and plummeted to her untimely death. Only on Doctor Who, eh? Still, securing this pop princess for a starring role in the 2007 Christmas special, Voyage of the Damned, was one of NuWho's greatest signings to date, especially because she hadn't properly acted since her 1980s stint as Charlene Robinson in Neighbours. You can probably guess what she's been up to since her festive escapade aboard the Titanic, since she's one of the world's most famous and popular singers. She's currently working on her next album, to be released later this year, and you'll be able to see her stretching her acting muscles once more in the upcoming disaster film San Andreas which is released in cinemas this spring. She sure knows how to pick 'em, doesn't she?
