8. A Monster In The Thames
The Doctor and Bill discover a shocking truth this episode: there's a gigantic alien snake monster living in the Thames!
This should be a familiar sight to the Doctor, though, as he has faced several creatures swimming through London in the past. Back in 1964, The Daleks Invasion of Earth featured an iconic cliffhanger in which a Dalek rose out of the river. Meanwhile, in 1975's Terror Of The Zygons, the Loch Ness Monster travels down from Scotland and into London.
And in the modern series, the Empress of the Racnoss was based underneath the Thames Flood Barrier in 2006's The Runaway Bride.
