Doctor Who Series 11: 10 Big Questions We Are Asking After 'Rosa'
5. Did Krasko Meet River Song?
Krasko was an escaped prisoner from the Storm Cage containment Facility, which was also the name of the 51st century prison that River Song was detained in for the murder of the Doctor. We don’t know for sure that these are the same prison, but the fact that both characters used a vortex manipulator to break out suggests they may have been contemporaries.
River Song was given 12,000 consecutive life sentences, but only appears to have served time during the 51st century. Krasko had set his temporal displacement weapon to send Rosa Parks into the 79th century, but may not have come from that far in the future himself.
It leaves open the intriguing possibility that the two characters did meet, but no more than that. The Doctor doesn’t reference any of her past acquaintances when she sees the device, and even the mention of Storm Cage doesn’t seem to have provoked memories of the closest and dearest of all her companions.
It seems that, for now at least, gadgets from the past are okay, but character references are a step too far for this new iteration of the show.
