Doctor Who Series 11: 10 Huge Questions After 'The Battle Of Ranskoor Av Kolos'

Doctor Who Series 11 Finale

The dialogue made it clear that the rogue Stenza would be locked up forever, trapped by a combination of his own technology and the power of the Ux. The temple had become his prison. This is surely a set up for a return if ever there was one. Doctor Who loves a good monster out of his tomb story (just as the Ice Warriors or Cybermen).

This particular Stenza now has all the more reason to hunt down the Doctor and her companions for revenge – especially if it’s another three thousand odd years before he gets out. Perhaps he will be able to send out his own distress signal, swallow his pride and be reunited with his race.

As the first and only returning villain of the series it seems likely that he will be back again. It’s doubtful that thinking about the name of one of his many victims will cause him to re-evaluate his life. The fact that a rumour had been doing the rounds that the Stenza will be revealed to be secretly acting under the duress of another, more recognisable foe (i.e. the Daleks) is almost certainly wishful thinking, but it does demonstrate that in the public’s imagination the tooth collector isn’t worthy of big bad status.
