Doctor Who: The 5 Best Ninth Doctor Episodes

4. 'The End Of The World

For her first trip in the TARDIS, The Ninth Doctor takes Rose to the far-future space station, Platform One, to witness the dying moments of planet Earth. They are soon caught up in the evil plot of the last 'pure' human, Lady Cassandra, to cause the 'accidental deaths' of all those on Platform One so that she can profit from the stock increases of their rival businesses, and continue to fund the surgeries that keep her alive

For many fans, 'The End Of The World' is the episode where they first began to feel that 'Doctor Who' was really back for good. It is also notable for introducing Cassandra, who returns in series two, and featuring the first appearance of the Face Of Boe, who remains a recurring character throughout the early years of the revival, and may in fact be a far-future version of fan-favourite Jack Harkness.
