Doctor Who: The Legend Of Ruby Sunday Review - 6 Ups & 4 Downs

6. UP - Susan Triad

Doctor Who The Legend of Ruby Sunday
BBC Studios

We finally got the chance this week to see Susan Twist flex her muscles in a full-fledged role, and one which she excels in.

Her entire character setup screams 'supervillain' - a tech billionaire unveiling a new piece of technology that will 'change the world' is textbook Doccy Who, and yet, when she's revealed to be a surprisingly nice person, I genuinely bought into this. In fact, it may yet be true, given she seemed disturbed and confused by the arrival of a voice in her head.

Twist also manages to turn off the charm at the end of the episode, with a genuinely creepy turn that I'm sure we'll be seeing in full force next time. There's still a lot of unanswered questions with his character - colour me intrigued.

Also, I appreciated the episode taking the time to fire shots at Theresa May out of nowhere by mimicking her infamous walk-on dance just as the world was starting to forget about this cringe-inducing moment.
