Doctor Who: 7 Heartbreaking Moments Of The Revived Series
6. Come Along, Pond
"That was their thing, why didn't she listen to him!?" the fans shout. But everybody knows how much she loved Rory. Viewers just watched them jump off a building together in a flurry of coats and slowly wafting ginger hair. From the moment Rory spotted that headstone in the graveyard (very metaphoric, Moffat - bravo!) and saw his name, it was inevitable that sadness was on its way. Like so many of the best - or worst, depending on your view - deaths in Doctor Who, this one was as sudden as a heart attack. And twice as painful. To begin with, Amy's reaction is the same as every viewer sat with baited breath at home. "What am I supposed to do now!?" But there aren't many who would be brave enough to risk the Weeping Angels' touch. Amy had no idea if she would follow him back in time. It would have been cruel for the Angels to send her somewhere else, but apparently they were feeling particularly angelic. She must've caught them on a good day. But it's not just Amy's loss that hurts, oh no! That would be too kind. It was also the devestation of our dear Doctor, begging his best friend not to leave as, all the while, no one seems to pay much sympathy to River who has just had to watch her mother and father disappear. She even kept her eyes on the Angel so the Doctor could have his moment of grief. Bless you, sweetie!
