Doctor Who: What Happened To Every Companion?

8. Peter Davison Era

Doctor Who Companions
BBC

The 5th Doctor was played by Peter Davison, and while his companions weren't bad, the problem with them was that there was simply too many of them in the Tardis at one time. As such this one is gonna be a bit more rapid fire than previously. The companions for this season were: Adric, Nyssa, Tegan Jovanka, Vislor Turlough, and Kamelion.

Adric was a young man from an alternate plane known as E-Space, who stowed away on the 4th Doctor's Tardis but was the first longtime companion to die in The Doctor's service. After thwarting another of the Cybermen's schemes, Adric was left on their ship as it traveled to prehistoric times, where it crashed, causing the extinction of the dinosaurs.

Nyssa was a Traken who joined up with The Doctor when she was barely a girl, and was the next one to leave, though not by choice. During an adventure involving a plague known as Lazar's disease, Nyssa accidentally ends up getting infected with the disease. She chooses to remain on the ship the adventure took place on and help the ones suffering there find a permanent cure for the disease.

Tegan was an air stewardess who definitely enjoyed traveling with The Doctor the most out of the others. But when Adric died, Tegan was emotionally crushed, and The Doctor left her behind. However, she would reappear here and there throughout the era to aid on adventures.

Next was Vislor Turlough, one of the few companions that left The Doctor utterly puzzled as to what was going on in his head. His motives were always unclear, especially when they learned he was under the control of The Black Guardian. However, when all was said and done, he and The Doctor parted as friends.

Finally there was Kamelion. Kamelion was a weird metal sculpture that the crew found in a dumpster and decided was a shape shifting android (that mostly sat there and did nothing). Kamelion was often a favorite target of The Master, which finally culminated in Kamelion's death.
