Doctor Who's 6 Best One-Off Companions

1. Kazran Sardick

Kazran Sardick Kazran Sardick is quite an unconventional character. He is more a tired old man who lost touch with his childhood than a genuine villain. Michael Gambon's scrooge-like performance was excellent in 'A Christmas Carol' but on this list I am referring mainly to the Sardick(s) played by Danny Horn and Laurence Belcher. Instead of punishing the mean spirited old man, the Doctor chose to take younger versions of Sardick on an adventure each Christmas Eve with the tragic Abigail Pettigrew (played by Katherine Jenkins). As the consequences of these times with the Doctor became memory for the present day Sardick, the story became a beautifully heart-rending tale that is, for me, the best Christmas special so far.

I have one golden rule: There is no such thing as a guilty pleasure. Any song or film that makes you feel good doesn't need justifying.
