Dragon Ball Z: Ranking Goku's 10 Best Fights

9. Cell Juniors

While not the mightiest or longest of battles in the series, the arrival of the Cell Juniors and their subsequent battle with Goku and the Z Fighters is a marque turning point in the saga, leading to a series first and a game-changer in the Saiyan saga.

During the Cell Games (which we will dive into more later), the titular villain aims to reveal Gohan's true power by infuriating and agitating the young Saiyan into angrily setting off his peak powers, something Cell wants to come up against as a real test of his own capabilities.

Goku and the rest of the warriors are completely overwhelmed as Cell launches a tirade of his own smaller clones onto them. This forces Gohan to watch as his friends and family are being beaten by the zippy, playful and powerful Cell Juniors.

The battle itself is short, but it's packed with emotion and tension as the Cell Juniors run rampant, all the while Gohan begins to lose more and more control of his anger, falling into Cell's plan to reveal his potential power level.

And reveal it he does, finally cracking under the pressure and becoming the first person in Dragon Ball history to reach Super Saiyan 2. Naturally, he blows everyone away with his insane power level, before easily dispatching of the same Cell Junior clones that were defeating Kakarot and the others.
