Dragon Ball Z: Ranking Goku's 10 Best Fights
8. Android 19
One of the few fights in the Dragon Ball Z saga that Kakarot actually loses, his clash with new, unknown villain Android 19 is a short-lived endeavour for Goku - one that ends in shocking defeat while the Z Fighters watch on in shock.
Following Dr. Gero's violent assault on a city, the Dragon Team are able to lure Gero and his accomplice, Android 19, out of the city to do battle. Kakarot is able to convince his enemy that he and Android 19 should be the ones to fight one-on-one.
The anticipation of a new enemy quickly turns to surprise, as the larger Android 19 seems completely unfazed by Goku's usually overwhelming speed and power. The Android fires back at every turn as Kakarot struggles to get a handle on his foes special absorbing ability.
While a turn to Super Saiyan looks to move the fight in Goku's favour, it's a previously mentioned heart disease that begins to weaken his powers drastically just when he needed them most.
As he became weaker, Android 19 was able to comfortably shift the tides, pummelling Kakarot as he begun to absorb Goku's powers, and life, bringing him to the brink of death.
While Vegeta is able to make a very late save, Goku was undeniably defeated, a surprising result and a shocking way to give legitimacy to the Androids as a threat.
