Eastbound & Down Finale: 5 Reasons We'll Miss The Show

1. Kenny Powers / Danny McBride's Most Iconic Role

Kenny Powers Eastbound And Down Of all the things in Eastbound & Down, what we€™ll miss most is Kenny Powers. He€™s the central character, of course, but he's also the main reason we€™ve watched all four seasons, and the reason we look forward to each new episode. Put simply, Kenny Powers is great. He's one of the strongest comedic characters I've seen on television since Homer Simpson. That's no overstatement on my part €“ I truly believe he has all of the traits, nuances and attributes of a genuinely funny character. He is a fool, a madman, a person hated by many, but loved by all. He is a likeable person and has many sides which deliver a range of responses. We can laugh at his exploits, but equally feel sorry for his downfalls. We can understand his position, but question his crazy actions. Now that he has left our screens, we will miss him. Danny McBride has acted in the role of Kenny Powers for four seasons since 2009, and he has shown that he has the capabilities of much more experienced actors of his generation. Current audiences have been treated to the spectacle he has created in his portrayal of Kenny Powers, and his image as the lead character of Eastbound & Down can be acknowledged as his most iconic role. Eastbound & Down may be finished, but it's left a legacy worthy of its production company HBO. It may not be as well known as it should be, but it's developed a following who know the significance of the show. A strong production team have created a brilliant comedy, worthy of recognition, and memorable characters have been portrayed for four seasons by a range of actors and actresses, and a hilarious story has reached its conclusion. Eastbound & Down will be missed.
