Emmys 2019: 10 Most Outrageous Nomination Snubs
8. It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia - No Nominations

Sometimes, people win seasonal awards based on their career. Ryan Giggs was awarded Sports Personality way past his prime (and before we all knew he was cheating on his partner with his brother’s wife), while Gary Oldman’s Oscar for The Darkest Hour was really an apology for not giving it to him for Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy or JFK.
To that end, where on earth are It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia’s nominations?!
They’ve only ever been recognised for Outstanding Stunt Co-Ordination previously, despite being one of the best comedies of the past decade. Season 13 wasn’t quite vintage, but Time’s Up For The Gang wasn’t worthy of a nod anywhere? Really?!
Though everyone has their favourite characters, the cast have frequently spoken about how Rob McElhenney, as the show’s overall creator, is the man who holds everything together. After his performance in Mac Finds His Pride, it’s ridiculous he’s been overlooked for Black-ish’s Anthony Anderson or The Kominsky Method’s Michael Douglas.
IASIP is no stranger to this, of course. In The Gang Tries Desperately To Win An Award, they even highlight the many reasons they feel they’ve been overlooked. Disappointing as it is, that was unlikely to change this year.
