Eurovision 2013: How To Drink Along With The Show
The Presenters
Normally the Eurovision presenters spend most of their time awkwardly flirting with each other, flitting between English and French seemingly at a drop of a hat, and whilst you'll forget them the moment the contest ends there are plenty of opportunities to drink throughout their shtick. Unfortunately this year Sweden has decided to buck the trend (much as Germany did last year with three glorious presenters you can see above) and this year the show will be presented by a single comedienne - Petra Mede. If its anything like normally though she'll open the show and remain largely anonymous until the songs are over, so the opening monologue should help ease you in to the drinking and also keep you drinking in the inevitiable lull between the end of the singing and the start of the voting. Here are some simple suggestions to get you started: If a joke falls flat - Drink! Every time we see her backstage - Drink! Every time she flicks her hair - Drink! There'll be plenty of other opportunities to create your own rules but these are a good base - for the hardened drinks among you, you might want to consider drinking every time she switch languages. The other presenter to consider is Graham Norton, who has deftly taken on the impossible task of replacing Sir Terry Wogan, at the start of each song there'll be a sarcastic quip or observation about the pre-song clip of Sweden - a couple of suggested rules for him are: Every time he praises the host country - Drink! Every time he makes a sarcastic comment about an upcoming song - Drink!
