Every Arrowverse Season Ranked From Worst To Best
17. Arrow Season 3
Arrow's third season initially looked like it was set to continue the show's string of success. Unfortunately, it ended up marking the beginning of the end for its reign at the top of superhero television, as the show veered away from important characters and began centering on an uninteresting villain (and, more annoyingly, an uninteresting relationship) instead.
Ra's Al Ghul had all the makings of a great Big Bad and, in spite of a solid performance from Matt Nable, the writers just weren't able to capitalize on his potential. Thus, the season ended up becoming a watered-down Batman story about how Ra's wanted Oliver to take his place as his successor and, upon the latter's refusal, threw a tantrum and destroyed his happiness.
To make matters worse, the writers began paying attention to the blossoming relationship between Oliver and Felicity but unfortunately, even with their great chemistry, that relationship did anything but blossom - as it resulted in both characters acting out of character and made for some incredibly cringe-worthy moments (Felicity in the A.T.O.M. suit, really?).
Like most of Arrow's misfires, this one started off with a lot of potential but, aside from the brilliant Starling-central trio of episodes led by Katie Cassidy and Vinnie Jones, it ultimately squandered it. And it was all capped off by an incredibly underwhelming finale.
