Every Battlestar Galactica Series And Movies Ranked Worst To Best
11. Battlestar Galactica Season 4.5
So either this is the second half Season 4, or it's own DVD box-set for 'the final season'. These last few episodes reach to the crescendo that everything in the show had been building too, but many fans were a little disappointed by the reliance on mysticism over the more hard-line elements of military realism that the show relied upon.
The early episodes of this season focused on the absolute misery that the rest of Season 4 left us on. The discovery of a nuclear, irradiated planet called Earth and the depths of hatred that that revelation left in the crew of the Galactica. The ensuing civil insurrection, led by Felix Gaeta, was a tragically bitter storyline that made for heart-wrenching viewing.
Eventually, the season brought us in the finale, to a place called 'The Colony' in a three-part episode that mixed the final battle over baby Hera with the numerous misplaced flashbacks of life on Caprica before the war.
The conclusion of the entire series left a lot to be desired, but it tied up all of the plot threads and it left the audience with just the right amount of questions we know never really needed to be answered.
