Every Battlestar Galactica Series And Movies Ranked Worst To Best
7. Battlestar Galactica Season 2
With the second season of the reimagined show, we see the crew of the Galactica and its fleet divided. Starbuck has fled back to Caprica, Baltar and Tyrol are stranded on the surface of Kobol, half the fleet breaks away from Galactica as Colonel Tigh assumes command. Commander Adama is fighting for his life and Lee is in a prison cell. Things aren't exactly looking up for what's left of the human race.
Unlike a lot of shows, these ongoing plots weren't resolved straight away, they took a great deal of time to work through, several episodes of recovery building towards a renewed sense of purpose. Shortly afterwards, the Battlestar Pegasus enters the narrative of the show and we have to deal with the sociopathic Admiral Cain (played brilliantly by Michelle Forbes).
The opportunity to conduct space battles with both Battlestars was something that the show capitalised on and the character arcs within this series progressed towards a fateful discovery, the planet of New Caprica.
