Every Death In The Simpsons Ranked
12. Health Inspector Frankie (Mommie Beerest)
Have you ever wondered how Moe's famously "dank" tavern stayed open for years whilst clearly violating every health and safety law in the book? The answer is Frankie; a health inspector who just so happens to be Moe's childhood friend. Frankie continuously overlooked the many shortcomings of Moe's Tavern and gave his bar-tending buddy a free pass no matter how bad things were.
Years of bending the rules finally caught up to Frankie in the Season 16 episode "Mommie Beerest" when takes a fatal bite out of one of Moe's pickled eggs and dies instantly. This is obviously bad news for Frankie, but also for Moe who fails the subsequent (and far more legitimate) health inspection. This was probably due to the fact that Frankie's corpse was still in the bar when the new inspector arrived.
Not only does Frankie's death facilitate the storyline of this episode, his character also adds a nice wrinkle to Moe's backstory. His death isn't impactful as we barely know the character, but his relationship with Moe and his place in the history of one of Springfield's most iconic locations gives his death the edge over other similarly comedic demises.
