Every Death In The Simpsons Ranked

7. Green Day (The Simpsons Movie)

Simpsons Death
20th Century Fox

In Simpsons cannon, multi-Grammy award winning rock band Green Day are dead. They got sucked into Lake Springfield and died by drowning or pollution-based poisoning or both. That is insane.

Billy Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool were playing their punked-out version of The Simpsons theme during the opening sequence of 2007's The Simpsons Movie whilst floating on a barge in the middle the town's lake. After finishing their song, the band attempt to talk to the crowd about the environment, which is about a good idea as trying to persuade hungry wolf not to eat your leg.

The townsfolk pelting their barge with garbage and rocks (including one shot from Moe that hit Tré Cool right in the St. Jimmys) until the polluted lake dissolved their platform and the trio plummeted into the water below. Their deaths were later confirmed when a funeral service for the group was held in Springfield church... I guess their friends and families weren't that interested in the ceremony.

For the magnitude of the people involved, its role in the plot of the film, and its sheer bizarreness, Green Day's death in The Simpsons Movie is as legendary as any of their songs.
