Every Episode Of Atlanta Season Two Ranked Worst To Best

8. Episode 03 - Money Bag Shawty

Episode three of the second season, "Money Bag Shawty" is an episode all about appearances.

Mirroring the first season episode where Van and Earn go on a date, a similar evening is played out only this time Earn is rolling in cash and looking to show off. His reasoning is the concept of being "Stunted"- to be made a fool of.

At the very beginning of the episode, we're given examples of Van and Earn being stunted by friends and strangers, and the two could use a win. What follows is the statement that even if you have money from legitimate means, racial prejudices can still be a pitfall and for helpless Earn, he has no other option but to flaunt his money in a frivolous way.

For Darius and Alfred, their play-date with Clark County looks to be a fun evening until they realize that not only is Clark unhinged and lacking empathy, but his entire model as a drug-smoking, hard-drinking rapper is all a facade.

His passive aggressive threats to the sound engineer tell us everything about this poser, and the image he presents to his peers might be hiding a more vindictive side, which we do see in the finale.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
