Every Love, Death & Robots Episode Ranked

16. The Secret War

The Very Pulse of the Machine
Netflix

In yet another military-versus-monster episode, The Secret War follows a group of Russian soldiers who decide to lay it all the line to destroy an army of blood-thirsty demons.

Not unlike early duds Sucker of Souls and Kill Team Kill, the episode is a bloody exercise in violence and high body counts, but makes up for its simple premise with elegant direction, beautiful animation, and a final stand that gets the heart racing as much as it scares.

No, it's not the deepest episode on offer, but as far as the show's many human-versus-ancient-evil adventures go, it's definitely one of the most thrilling and pretty.
