Every Love, Death & Robots Episode Ranked

17. Fish Night

The Very Pulse of the Machine
Netflix

There's strong competition, of course, but Fish Night may be Love, Death & Robots' most visually beautiful episode, a luminous, detailed tapestry of colours, ideas, and possibilities.

The story of two travelling salesman who break down in the middle of the desert and are visited at night by the spectres of ancient fishes, the episode's only really flaw is that it ends too abruptly, wasting its awe-inspiring visuals on a muted conclusion far removed from what its philosophical musings seemed to be moving toward.

That being said, don't let its anti-climax deter you too much: Fish Night, at its height, is exactly what Love, Death & Robots was always meant to be.
