Every Love, Death & Robots Episode Ranked

6. Pop Squad

The Very Pulse of the Machine
Netflix

Pop Squad features Love, Death & Robots' most vivid and bleak dystopia; a world in which everyone is immortal and barred from having children. The episode follows a detective whose job it is to make sure the population stays down.

Grim and unbearably tense, the detective in question spends the episode conflicted about his role in the system, haunted by his actions and enraged by its indifference to human life. It's a deeply moving character study, bringing a horrible world to life through the eyes of a man destroyed by the system he answers to.

Human in its depiction of grief and guilt, Pop Squad is one of many episodes that deserves to be expanded on. The moral questions its explores and the characters it introduces really deserve to be revisited.
