Edward Nygma is played by Cory Michael Smith and might just be one of the most captivating characters on the show next to Bruce Wayne. His dual identities as Nygma and The Riddler add a sense of charming chaos to the show. There's a definite showman-like quality to The Riddler that's hard not to be charmed by when he delivers a question or a task to a sometimes unwilling audience.

In Season Four he partners with Lee Thompkins in running The Narrows as benevolent crime lords. During the ring-side scenes at their fight night, The Riddler is given the spotlight and shows just how great he can can be in live action. Cory Michael Smith demands the audience's attention with ease.

Even in previous seasons the writers have been careful to balance both The Riddler and Ed Nygma equally as they both try to pursue different paths. It was intriguing to watch the devolution of his friendship with The Penguin as they played a deadly game of cat and mouse with one another.
