3. BoJack Horseman (Season 3)
Proving that animation definitely isn't just for kids is BoJack Horseman, which takes place in a world where humans and anthropomorphic animals live side-by-side. The star is the titular BoJack, voiced by Will Arnett, a faded 1990s sitcom star who attempts to return to the big-time with a tell-all autobiography. Aside from Arnett (who also lends his considerable vocal talents to Lego Batman), the voice cast includes Alison Brie and Aaron Paul, while the likes of J.K. Simmons and Daniel Radcliffe have made appearances on the show (Radcliffe voiced a version of himself, while Simmons recurs as a film producer who just so happens to be a turtle). Although reception was initially mixed, it reached new heights in Season 2, with comedy that satirises Hollywood and celebrity culture, but also offers a portrayal of addiction and depression that many shows wouldn't attempt, let alone pull off.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
