Every Netflix 2016 TV Series - Ranked In Order Of Anticipation

2. Daredevil (Season 2)

There was excitement when Netflix announced it was teaming up with Marvel to make four standalone TV series - Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist - before teaming them all up for The Defenders, but also a note of apprehension. After all, there was already a saturation of superheroes on screens big and small, while the previous attempt at adapting Daredevil hadn't been a success. Daredevil is The Man Without Fear, and any fears the audience had were put to bed if not by the end of the first episode, then certainly by the end of the second, which featured *that* fight scene. It was one of the most acclaimed outputs not just from Netflix, but also Marvel. It was dark, complex, and extremely violent, with a breadth of storytelling the studio can't offer with its films. Its success meant that initial plans were altered, and Season 2 was made a priority ahead of the likes of Luke Cage (which will be along in 2016), and Iron Fist (unconfirmed, but likely 2017). It's raising the stakes again, introducing Elektra (‰lodie Yung) and, most excitingly, The Punisher (Jon Bernthal), and if it's as good as the first one then it'll once again be one of the best TV shows of the year. The only question is how fast you can get it all watched.
