Every Netflix 2016 TV Series - Ranked In Order Of Anticipation
6. Narcos (Season 2)
Alongside Bloodline, this was the other new non-Marvel drama Netflix rolled out in 2015, and it proved even more popular than that one (at least in terms of reviews and seeming internet presence/social media hype, for whatever that's worth). It certainly had a rich enough source material to pull from, telling the true story of Pablo Escobar, the Colombian drug kingpin who made a fortune through distributing cocaine, and it mines that for all it's worth, focusing not just on his drug empire but his relationships with other drug lords and the DEA. The first season, which starred Wagner Moura as Escobar and also included Game of Thrones fan-favourite Pedro Pascal as a DEA agent, was a fast-paced, tensely-plotted hit, so Season 2 has something to live up to, but also plenty to build upon.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
