Every Netflix Marvel Villain Ranked Worst To Best

5. John Pilgrim (The Punisher Season 2)

Jessica Jones Kilgrave
Netflix

John Pilgrim made his entrance in The Punisher's second season and with him, he brought a stare that could send a chill through anyone. Played excellently by Josh Stewart, Pilgrim was both a villain and a victim - a former assassin forced by the Schultz's to take up the mantle once again thanks to their hold over his children.

Stewart's portrayal of Pilgrim was the best thing about the character. You couldn't pin down the origins of his accent and the show didn't bother to either - it's what gave him an eerie otherness. It was calm and measured but filled with intent. Pilgrim didn't need to do violent things in order to be a threat.

That doesn't mean Pilgrim couldn't be violent though. As the most graphic of the Marvel/Netflix shows, Pilgrim was involved in plenty of gory action, and you need only watch episode 2x10 to see this blood-soaked villain expertly kill his way out a tricky situation.

Pilgrim's intentions were intriguing as well. The former assassin found religion and vowed to turn his life around before his manipulation by the Schultz's.
