2. The Purge

A co-production from Syfy and USA Network, The Purge TV series is a spin-off from the hugely successful Blumhouse horror franchise, although it won't quite follow the same format.

The series will follow four seemingly separate storylines on Purge night, where around 70% of the story will take place, with flashbacks to non-Purge nights filling in the blanks. James DeMonaco is executive producing, with Fiona Dourif leading the cast.

The last TV show based on the works of George R.R. Martin did reasonably well, so Syfy will have high hopes for Nightflyers.

Based on the author's novella and series of short stories, the show takes place on the titular ship The Nightflyer, which makes contact with an entity that halts the expedition and threatens the ship and its crew, which includes a telepath. The cast is led by Gretchen Mol, with Daniel Cerone serving as showrunner.
