Every Rowan Atkinson Film & TV Project Ranked From Worst To Best
16. Never Say Never Again
Never Say Never Again may be the most divisive entry on this list.
A James Bond film, but not considered by most fans to be part of the official 007 canon, the picture was fronted by Sean Connery more than a decade after officially leaving the role. The picture is essentially an '80s re-imaging of Thunderball, in which a 27 year-old Atkinson would appear in his first feature-length picture.
Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Mr. Bean character in 2021, the actor reflected on his part in the spy film, explaining he was disappointed with his own performance as a member of the British Foreign Office. His character helps Bond's pursuit of the villain, whilst providing some welcome comic relief.
Although a commercial success in its own right, the film would be out-performed by the Roger Moore led Octopussy which was released just a few months prior.
With audiences now accustomed to significant gaps between Bond films, two of them being released in the same year seems a crazy proposition but that is exactly what we saw in 1983.
