Every Season Of Archer Ranked From Worst To Best
2. Season 8
The eighth season of Archer took us out of the show's "real" world, and into Sterling's come-induced fantasy world. The first of three seasons, this one takes place in a noir-Los Angeles shortly after the second world war.
What sets this season apart from all the others is that is plays out like one giant movie; every episode directly links to the next with no side-adventures or miscellaneous trips. The eighth season is ideal Binge-Watching season, with a mystery story just as captivating.
Dreamland follows Archer as a Private Investigator who tries to uncover the mystery behind his former partner Woodhouse' death. What starts as a noir tale with cigarette smoking ladies in silk and fedoras a plenty, divulges into a sprawling crime drama that incorporates every major character in the show.
There is great laugh out loud moments, but also some legitimately horrifying sequences too; including the exploration of Krieger's bartender back story, and the entire use of Barry through the season. In isolation the season works great for newcomers or people non-familiar with Archer as a whole.
Where it might fall down though is its strange use of characters like Pam, Cyril and Lana- but that's just Archer storytelling.
