Every Season Of Parks And Recreation Ranked Worst To Best

2. Season Four

Parks And Recreation
NBC

Parks and Recreation wasn't afraid to try new angles and set out to prove that with season four. The show may have kept its regular flow and style, but as characters developed further, it needed to switch things up to adapt.

The main arc follows Leslie, as she is approached to run for a seat on city council. The ordeal is the beginning of bigger and better things for her, but also allows the character to reflect on the negative aspects of government work. Her optimistic attitude is really put to the test as she finds her path to greatness isn't as exciting as she may have hoped.

The use of conflict throughout the season provides a whole new dimension to the show. Ben and Leslie's relationship also suffers some setbacks due to the campaign, while Tom struggles to balance his work life with his new passion project. Even the ever-cheerful Chris Traeger faces his demons as he becomes increasingly lonely in his new surroundings.

Once again there are guest stars aplenty, with Kathryn Hahn in particular fitting into the cast so brilliantly. They even managed to bring in superstar Paul Rudd as the hilarious Bobby Newport to run against Leslie.
