Linda is the best mom character of the group, and honestly it isn’t even close. The lack of Bob’s Burgers penetration into the zeitgeist means she’s the least recognisable of the trio of moms, but most Animation Domination fans would have her as their favourite.

This is probably because she’s most obviously a mother. The gags and storylines she gets play into that, and they have a warm, recognisable humour to them. Compared to Marge and especially Lois, Linda Belcher does a wonderful job of melding her motherly duties with her comedy.

Marge too is a loving mother, but a lot of her humour comes away from this stock role. Lois, meanwhile, is a terrible mother, but Family Guy tends to ignore this rather than mine what could be a rich vein of laughter.

Linda’s over enthusiasm is incredibly endearing, and she provides so many great gags, even if she doesn’t always get them herself. Her willingness to dive headfirst into new ideas is ideal for the show’s wacky plots as well.

She’s arguably the most malleable Belcher too, excelling as a lead character and supporting member, plus having success when teamed up with any of the other four in her family.
