Every Star Trek Film & TV Show Ranked From Worst To Best
10. Star Trek: The Original Series (1966-1969)
Star Trek: The Original Series deserves credit for introducing audiences to the Trek future, one of the only futures in sci-fi at the time that was portrayed optimistically. It showed us an Earth where greed, hunger, and war were all ancient memories, and people peacefully explore the galaxy, seeking to learn about life and the universe, rather than an Earth ravaged by alien invasions and killer robots, as was the typical sci-fi format.
The original Star Trek creators also pushed for more diversity on their show than was common at the time, a practice that is being followed today with new shows like Star Trek: Discovery. It's great to see a future on TV where all people are accepted and free to live their lives happily.
Although the original show loses points for being cheesy, over-acted, and cheaper than other instalments in the franchise, it can't be denied that this show set the standard for all Trek to come.
