Every Star Trek Opening Titles Ranked Worst To Best

6. Star Trek: Picard

The opening sequence for Star Trek: Picard was designed by Prologue, the stage name for Kyle Cooper. Cooper had also designed the intro for Star Trek: Discovery. Cooper has a huge catalogue of film and television introductions, including American Horror Story, Zack Snyder's Dawn of the Dead remake and even Home Alone. Therefore, the opening to Picard was in good hands from the beginning.

This intro is much slower and more contemplative than Discovery's, cycling through some of the biggest influences on Picard's life and the show itself. It begins by trailing through the vineyards in La Barre, France, before moving to a Borg inspired motif. There are android images along with an exploding world, representing Romulus.

It is the only opening sequence in the franchise to feature the face of its star, with Patrick Stewart's image being forged by the broken pieces of Romulus. The beautiful theme is composed by Jeff Russo, adapting a tune heard in the Next Generation episode The Inner Light. In the age of streaming, it is a shame that this sequence most likely is skipped frequently because it's well worth taking the time to enjoy.
