Every Umbrella Academy Episode Ranked Worst To Best

After the donut shop, the department store, and the Academy itself, the fourth episode of the series was the first to end without a big fight, instead opting for another emotional scene revolving around Diego. This time it was the death of Detective Patch at the hands of Hazel and Cha-Cha, that would ultimately put him on the same page as 5 moving forward.

There is more tension building between Luther and Diego, both who see themselves as the strongest leader in the group, Allison casts her first doubts on Leonard, and Number 5 hits the bottle hard, but while all of the above worked in terms of the season's overall storytelling, easily the best part of this episode is Klaus.

Thanks to the harrowing flashbacks to his childhood, we begin to see why he is so disturbed, and can understand why he has tried to distance himself from the rest of his family. This was outstanding character development, made even more impressive by how funny Klaus can be at the same time.
