Every Umbrella Academy Episode Ranked Worst To Best

18. Extra Ordinary (S1E3)

The Umbrella Academy

Episode three continued the trend set by the first two episodes, in that it was a slow burner, mainly character driven, but punctuated by a huge fight sequence at the end. This time it was Hazel and Cha-Cha's infiltration of the Academy mansion.

5's mission to stop the end of the world almost took a back seat as much of the episode instead focused on the Commission's hunt for the time traveller. Though this may have culminated in the biggest part of the episode, it wasn't the most important.

Thanks to the flashbacks throughout the episode, putting Diego and Grace's relationship under the spotlight, the solemn moment at the end in which Number 2 switched his robot mother off hit so much harder.

This was possibly the best, and certainly the most emotionally charged scene the show had offered in any of the first three episodes.
