2. Will We See More Monsters?

Now season 1 has passed and we have been able to reflect on it, it seems that people enjoyed some aspects of the show more than others. One that proved universally popular was the monsters. However much they underpinned some stories in the first season, it does feel as though they took a back seat for the most part. As a show that is and was advertised as a show about a monster slayer, many people felt let down that this aspect did not feature more prominently. When they were involved however, the action was engaging and the CGI was excellent.

It's interesting to note that the first two books, of which the first season is based, included more monsters far more than future entries. So if the books are anything to go by on this front, we may be left a little disappointed where swamp-dwelling spiders and ball throwing devils are concerned. Important however is knowing that they always remained small parts of the larger story in the books, so perhaps the show's creators will adapt these ideas further in the show.
