Fake Doctors, Real Friends: 10 Things We Learned About Scrubs From Episode One
8. No One Liked The Title Sequence At First
When you think about Scrubs, you can't ignore the opening credits. It has become something of an iconic aspect of the show, and something that the fans take very seriously. At the start of season two, production gave the show a new opening sequence to include Neil Flynn, but was hit with a huge amount of backlash from the fans and soon changed it back.
Clearly it made an impact, but at the time, none of the cast were sold on it. To record just that 12 second clip took an entire day, and Zach Braff in particular didn't see how what they had shot would look good as a final product.
When watching it back however, he and Donald can't help but admit how wrong they were and how awesome the scene turned out to be. Even down to the X-ray at the end that fans have never been quiet about telling them is backwards.
For years the cast claimed this was done on purpose to reflect the wacky show based around new and inexperienced doctors, but in reality it was just the prop guy making a mistake. Elizabeth Banks' character Kim even broke the fourth wall in series five to tell us how it had bothered her all these years.
