As the show has gone on over the years, Family Guy fans have witnessed numerous Griffin family members come and go, but perhaps the most unusual of them all appeared just once during the episode "Vestigial Peter."

Getting ready for church one morning, Lois insisted that her husband found some new clothes to improve his Sunday's best. As Peter tried on a new shirt, a lump was discovered, which led to a visit to Dr. Hartman, who claimed the growth was actually a "vestigial conjoined twin."

Soon, the attached twin wanted to explore life, gaining the name "Chip" in the process. Peter grew tired of the new family member's youthful energy and curiosity to the point he wanted him removed. Warmed up by his kindness and generosity, the Griffin household pushed for Chip to stay, while Peter urged him to get out of their lives.

Luckily, one of the most adorable characters didn't leave the show without first receiving some overdue appreciation. During a trip to the basement, Peter injured himself. Chip returned just in time to help his brother out, for which Peter finally expressed his gratitude. Hearing all he ever needed to hear, the tiny hero sailed off on a hot-air balloon, never to be seen on the show again.
