Featuring Stewie's "brother" Bertram trying to take over the playground over which Stewie reigns supreme, Sibling Rivalry is one of those rare follow-up episodes that works, and works well. Bertram, Stewie's would-be brother, was introduced in Emission Impossible earlier in the series, and is brought back for this season 4 outing after the show returned from cancellation. The two going toe-to-toe is what makes this episode great: the use of biological warfare (chickenpox) and the sword fight between them, but really, it's the verbal sparring that is the pinnacle of the episode. Bertram always seems to bring out the best in Stewie, as he's as close to a match, intellectually and in sheer cunning, as Stewie has ever had. Though it's set up at the end to make it seem as if Stewie may have killed Bertram, he does appear once more later in the series (where he finally meets his demise).
