Family Guy: 10 Worst Things Brian Griffin Has Ever Done
1. Lets New Wife Jess Choke To Death
The most recent season had a two part season premiere which was an absolute train wreck. The episodes were simultaneously overstuffed and empty, focused around Brian marrying Jess: a terminally ill woman with cancer.
The first episode sees the two of them dating, falling in love and Brian struggling with the fate Jess has already accepted. His proposal seems genuine (she’s not rich enough to leave him a fortune), and marriage to a woman soon to die fits his commitment issues. It’s a sweet gesture, although soon Brian has second thoughts.
After their wedding, Jess recovers, and it turns out without cancer she’s hideously annoying. She farts a lot (which apparently means the cancer’s fading) and overeats, resulting in her choking on some nachos.
At first he’s unaware it happening - he’s ignoring her - then when he realises, rationalises leaving her to die until it’s too late. In the end though, it’s actually not too late and (yet again) Jess survives.
Brian then falls into a deep depression and he too overeats, until Jess gets sick of looking after him (there’s a long, fairly unfunny montage), and tries to put him down.
Basically they’re both terrible people.
